Fake Blood Test - Step by Step

For our trailer we would like to film a scene that would require fake blood. For this we decided we wanted to make the fake blood ourselves and here is a step by step guide in which we did it.
 
Firstly we mix water with Golden Syrup to form a thick liquid that will not stick.
 
 
 
This is what the mixture looked like after this step was completed:

 
Second step is to add red food dye to the mix to make the blood colour:


 
After doing this we found the mixture was far too watery but was the right blood colour we needed:

 
The third step to thicken the mixture is to add sieved flour to the mix. The reason for using sieved flour was to make sure we would get no lumps in our blood mixture.


 
The fourth step was to add chocolate syrup to add a darker colour to the already red mixture allowing it to look more realistic:

 
Last step we added more red food dye to the mixture to get the right shade of red needed to make our blood look as realistic as possible. This was the end product:
